PC Pro Fujitsu ScanSnap iX500 review – ‘Recommended A-list’
We loved reading the recent review of the Fujitsu’s ScanSnap iX500 on PC Pro. It was tested by Dave Mitchell who described it as “multitalented as desktop scanners come”.
Having put it through its paces, Dave outlines how he tried the many scan operations as well as installing the ScanSnap iX500 on a Windows 7 PC. He also takes advantage of the ScanSnap Manager utility in order to access the apps functionality.
The review comments on the ScanSnap iX500’s fast scan speed after a gruelling series of scan speed tests.Dave goes on to discuss the USB 3.0 connectivity and wireless support for scanning directly to mobile devices when running the ScanSnap Connect Application.
In the review, Dave says: “The iX500 is easy to use. Pressing the blue button begins scanning and, once finished, the Quick Menu provides a range of destinations, including email, folders, printers, Office apps, custom apps or one of the bundled applications.” He continues: “We were also able to send scans directly to our local Dropbox folder and Google Drive account. Other options include Evernote, Salesforce Chatter and Microsoft SharePoint.”
So what’s the verdict?
