How to change the file name format of your scans
We always hate wasting time opening each file one-by-one just to see the contents that are within each document. That is why a good naming convention is so useful with your digital documents. When you are scanning different batches of documents, how you title a document is useful in helping you sort out those files. Another way of organizing your documents is by the date which you have scanned them. Formatting the title of your scans by date is helpful if you scan documents periodically. You would then have to file those documents into separate folders where you would easily remember exactly where they lie within your computer. These naming conventions will allow you to be able to identify the contents of each document easier and quicker if properly named.
1. Open ScanSnap Manager, the blue ‘S’ icon in your computer.
2. Go under the ‘Save’ tab and select ‘File Name Format…’
3. After the box for the ‘File Name Format’ opens, you have the option to choose between the preset date and time that ScanSnap provides or you can create your own custom file which can include a sequential order of digits.
Another option of naming your files is to set a title for each document after it is done scanning. You would only be able to scan and rename a document one at a time. In order to do this, you would have to go through your ScanSnap Manager settings under the ‘Save’ tab. Select the box that says ‘Rename after scanning’ and you will be able to immediately change the title and location of the document after it is done scanning.
Stop wasting time and start getting more organized!
